| Oscar Manuel Araujo, General Manager
Oscar Araujo has over 33 years experience in the oil and gas industry as petroleum engineer since graduating from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Bucaramanga-Colombia). Mr. Araujo also has a degree as Financial Specialist from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá) and a degree as Specialist in Project Management from Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá). He has important experience in domestic and international business in production, exploration and services areas, and from operational to main board level positions. He joined Intercol (ESSO) in 1974 and became production engineer, drilling engineer and reservoir engineer before leaving in 1979. In 1979 he joined Ingeser S.A. (Colombian drilling, workover, construction and services contractor) as drilling and workover superintendent and became President Assistant. In 1994 he joined Perforaciones El Dorado (Colombian drilling and workover contractor) as operations manager and assistant to the operations manager of Nabors Drilling in Colombia before leaving in 1998 to establish his own consulting and service company. In 2003 he established EMPESA S.A. jointly with another 13 partners, and he is been managing the company since then.
Celso Siado, New Business Development Director
Celso Siado has over 35 years of diversified experience in reservoir engineering, production, operations, drilling and administration as petroleum engineer since graduating from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Bucaramanga-Colombia). Mr. Siado also has a degree as MS in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir) from Universidad Zulia, LUZ, Maracaibo-Venezuela. Mr. Siado has gained strong experience working for companies like Ecopetrol, Ministry of Mines and private oil and gas producers companies from technical to staff positions. He joined the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Colombia in 1972, government official to apply the oil business policies to the petroleum products and fuel distributors, until 1982. Then, he joined ECOPETROL as Senior Reservoir engineer for mature oil and gas fields and became production chief before leaving in 1984. Then he joined OXY as reservoir and operations engineer in 1984 for oil and gas fields, and became as manager of reservoir and operations before leaving in 1989. In 1991 he joined PetroSantander as field district manager for oil and gas fields until 1995. In 1997 he joined Amoco as field operations manager in Opon high pressure gas field. In 2001 he joined Petrocolombia/Coop S.A. as reservoir and operations manager until his retirement in January 2007. In 2003 he established EMPESA S.A. jointly with another 13 partners, and he is being the director of new business development beginning 2007.
Roberto de la Pena, Production Director
Roberto de la Pena has over 34 years of extensive experience in reservoir management, production evaluation, oil and gas reserves estimates as petroleum engineer since graduating from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellin-Colombia). He joined Ingeominas (Colombian Geological Institute) as field geologist leaving in 1980. Then he joined Cities Service in 1980 as drilling and completion engineer until 1983 when the company was sold to OXY, then he joined OXY and became a senior reservoir engineer, until 2003 when he retired. Mr. de la Pena has published learned articles for company and congress publications like "Production Logging A Key Tool for Multi Layer Reservoir Description," presented at the Engineering Conference of Occidental Oil and Gas at New Orleans, in 1998; "Gas injection program results at La Salina Field," presented at the VI Congreso Colombiano del Petroleo, Bogotá, in 1995; and "Evaluación de Reservas de Carbón en el area de Venecia, Antioquia, Col." Coauthor. Bogotá, 1978. Boletin de Ingeominas, Bogotá. Mr. De la Pena was associated professor of chemistry and petroleum school at Universidad de America (Bogotá) 1992-1993 and speaker of several production logging seminars at Universidad Nacional (Medellin-Colombia) in 1997 and 2001.
Guillermo Sanchez, Finance/Administrative Director
Guillermo Sanchez has over 21 years of diversified experience as administrator since graduating from Universidad Politecnico Grancolombiano (Bogota-Colombia). He had worked in the oil and gas sector, in the areas of administration, human resources, security, logistic and safety; he has strong skills in management, planning and execution of especial projects and administration of contracts. In 1985 he joined OXY as assistant in human resources and became analyst of planning and development of personnel, security supervisor, material supervisor (supplies and logistics) until his resignation in 2003. Mr. Sanchez has a diplomat in top management of security from Univesidad Javeriana (Bogota) in 2001; he also has a diplomat in human resources from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Bucaramanga Colombia) in 1998.
Edgar F. Guerrero, Exploration Director
Edgar Guerrero has over 34 years of extensive experience as geologist since graduating from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogota) in 1974. Mr. Guerrero also has a MS in Earth Resources Management from University of South Carolina (US) in 1992. He has interesting skills in processing and interpretation of seismic information especially in compressional and extensional geological ambient, as well as in administration and leadership of E&P projects and application of state of the art technologies in the oil finding. He joined ECOPETROL as geophysicist of exploration and became chief of technical services, prospection division chief, coordinator of development geology for Cusiana oil field, until 1997 when retired. Then, he has been working as consultant for companies like Texas in Houston 1998, Findupetrol in 1998, Ecopetrol in 1999, Organization of Ibero American Countries in 1999, HIS Energy Group in 2002; also he has participated in especial projects like: Multi Company Team (Ecopetrol, Gulf, Chevron) as interpreter of seismic information for Plato sub basin Colombia; Technical Committee for Sub Andean Basins; Bench Mark Test of interactive systems for seismic interpretation. Mr. Guerrero has been consultant adviser to the Honduras Government for oil and gas exploration, Professor of the geology school at Universidad Nacional De Colombia, 2002 - 2004 and Associated Professor in 2001 - 2002, Professor of geology at Universidad de Santo Tomás (Bogotá) in 1986. Professor of Geological Data Analysis at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá in 1975.
Cesar Vasquez, Director
Cesar Vasquez has over 26 years experience as Geologist-Engineer since graduating from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 1980. He is an expert in Reservoir characterization Geology, applying modern concepts of reservoir description and defining the optimal development and production strategies, including information acquisition programs from reservoir seismic through logging and dynamic data. He acquired his expertise working for Ecopetrol, the Colombian state oil company, where he began as a well-site geologist; learn stratigraphy interpretation of reservoirs using core-data, petrophysical characterization of reservoirs from core analysis and log data, evaluated seismic interpretations, production behavior, simulation results and economic evaluations. He became Manager of the Reservoir Department, doing reservoir characterization studies in the fields operated by Ecopetrol and by the associated companies in Colombia. After retired in 2002 he is a Consultant, serving as reservoir manager for Omimex Ltd., the main heavy oil producer company in Colombia (2003-2004), as petrophysical interpreter for Lukoil Overseas Colombia (2005-2006), Consulting services for C&C Energy in reservoir evaluation in several blocks in the Putumayo Llanos and Catatumbo Basins, and as a consultant for several companies in production and exploration projects. Mr. Vasquez has the some awards: first prize, Technical Papers, I Congreso Colombiano del Petroleo, Colombia, 1984; and first prize, Technical Papers, V Congreso Colombiano del Petroleo, Colombia, 1992. He also has many Publications in Geology and Reservoir Engineering during 1982-2002 periods.
Benito Guerrero: Director
Benito Guerrero has over 24 years experience after graduating from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogota) in 1983 Mr Guerrero also has a Master of Science in Geology from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, USA, and a degree in Engineering Project Management, from Escuela de Administración de Negocios EAN, Bogotá 2005. He had worked in Petroleum Development and Exploration Geology with emphasis in interpretation and generation of geological models to evaluate, quantify, optimize and produce hydrocarbons. He joined Geolog Company in Colombia in 1982 as mudlogger, and then joined Corelab in 1984 as mudlogger. In 1989 he joined Oxy Colombia as Production Geologist as part of the Reservoir Management Team to evaluate, plan, optimize and coordinate the hydrocarbon production, he became as Exploration Geologist, responsible for evaluation of different Colombian basins to propose exploration areas to the Exploration Department, with an active participation as wellsite geologist in an aggressive offshore exploration drilling program in the North Sea performed by Occidental Caledonia, Aberdeen, Scotland, from 1991 to 1992. He left Oxy in 2003 when joined EMPESA as Director and part of the E&P Evaluation Team of EMPESA and Third Parties Opportunities, until 2006 when he has been servicing to several Companies as E&P Geologist. He was awarded with a Scholarship sponsored by Occidental de Colombia to obtain his Master degree, and the Occidental Corporation award, in 2002, for a Joint effort between Houston and Bogota Reservoir Management Groups to evaluate the Caño Limon field.
Orlando Hernandez: Drilling Team, Partner
Orlando Hernandez has over 35 years experience in Drilling, Completion and Workover, in Colombia and Venezuela He graduated as Petroleum Engineer from Universidad Industrial de Santander Bucaramanga Colombia, in 1973. He gained large expertise in Well Planning and Work Execution, with hands on experience with Drilling Rigs, equipment and tools. He also has experience in security, safety, training and personnel management. He joined Ecopetrol as production engineer in 1973, and became workover and drilling engineer, left Ecopetrol in 1979. He joined Lagoven, subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela) in 1979 as Drilling Engineer for the Lake of Maracaibo, and became Security Chief and Training Chief in 1984 when he left. He joined Anson Drilling in 1984; he became tollpusher and superintendent, and then transferred to Venezuela to open a subsidiary company as General Superintendent until 1995 when he left. He joined Oxy in 1995 as drilling supervisor until 1998 when he left. Then he has been a Drilling Consultant for several companies, and he joined Empesa in 2007 as part of the drilling team for complex wells. the Caño Limon field.
