Osage Terminates Participation in Rosa Blanca Concession more... Mar 23, 2009 Mar 02, 2009
Letter To Investors | Osage Exploration and Development, Inc. ("Osage") is a publicly traded E&P company (OTC Bulletin Board: OEDV) whose primary area of interest is Colombia. We are focused there because of the tremendous opportunities that we see for rapidly growing a small oil and gas company. Access to large concessions at low prices that have historically suffered from a lack of exploration and a governmental policy that clearly supports exploration and development combine to make Colombia the perfect venue to accomplish our corporate goals. To illustrate this point, as of January 2009, only 1% of Colombia's sedimentary basin acreage is currently in production according to the Colombian government website. This compares to where the United States was in its earliest stages of oil and gas development. Osage's mission is to consistently grow shareholder value by capturing unrecognized value associated with certain Colombian oil and gas assets through the efforts of its multi-disciplined team. Osage's business plan is to acquire producing and non producing properties and focus on projects that have significant economic impact, emphasizing exploitation and enhancement activities in addition to exploration. It also seeks to expand the scope of its operations by diversifying its development and exploratory efforts, both inside and outside its current areas of operation, focusing on established geological trends in which it can use the engineering, operations, financial and technical expertise of its entire team. We currently own a 9.4% working interest in a mature producing field farther south in the Middle Magdalena Valley in partnership with Pacific Rubiales Energy, Colombia's largest independent oil and gas company. Also in partnership with Pacific Rubiales, we own 9.4% of a 32 mile long pipeline that transports crude oil from the Guaduas Field to La Dorada, where it ties into a pipeline that runs to the export terminal at Cartagena in the north. We also own our legacy asset, the Hopper field in Osage County Oklahoma. This field is currently under a secondary recovery program producing out of the Skinner formation. Focused Strategy Osage is focused on developing oil and gas assets in Colombia. We seek to accomplish that through exploration, development, and acquisition of additional projects. We have acquired high quality partners in our existing projects, and will seek to expand our operations in Colombia by employing a similar strategy. Continuing to diversify our asset base geographically and geologically will expand shareholder value over the long run. Experienced Management Team The members of the Company's senior management team bring together a combination of capital markets and oil and natural gas exploration, development and production experience which will be highly leverageable to the future development of its existing international operations. |
